Located in Plymouth's downtown district, the Rees Cinema has a long and interesting history. The original building was much taller and had varied occupants, including a funeral parlor. .In 1940, it was made into the "Rees Cinema" - striking art deco design both inside and out. The very first movie shown here was "Gone With The Wind." Since that time, this has continuously been a popular theatre. Restoration of this building was completed in 1997, with "Gone with the Wind" shown again at this "re-opening" - Note this movie on the marquee. Seating over 400, this charming treasure of a theater has state of the art equipment, including Dolby digital sound .
