This watercolor of Plymouth's grain elevator shows it as it appeared into the early 2000's. It was a Farm Bureau Co-op center owned by some of the Marshall County farmers, run by a board of directors who hired a county manager to supervise it. With its limited storage space, it served mostly as temporary storage to accept and sell grain to large unit buyers.

Esther was eager to paint the interesting angles and shapes of an elevator, and enjoyed rendering the image of "Farm Bureau Co-op" which was located near the Marshall County courthouse on West Jefferson Street in Plymouth.
