This print captures the magic moment of a girl passing through the Graduation Arch. Cathy and Anton P. Zurbrugg commissioned this watercolor in honor of the graduation of their daughter, Lauren, CGA 2004. The original watercolor hangs in the Humanities Building of Culver Academies.

Culver Academy for Girls was founded in 1971. In 1975 the name was revised to Culver Girls Academy. The Graduation Arch was established as a symbol of CGA in 1975 and was a gift of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Pepson, CMA ‘43.

It was a special joy for Esther to paint this watercolor because her daughter, Susan Powers, was a proud and happy member of CGA’s first graduating class in 1972. Esther thanks Gary Mills, Staff Photographer of the Culver Academies, for providing her with reference photos.
