Culver history tells of a former lighthouse very near in location, and similar in size and design to the new one recently erected in our town park. Our town is justifiably proud of the completion of this project and grateful to the Antiquarian Society, and to Dick Brantingham, Park Superintendent Kelly Young, Paul Bickel, Kurt Lucas, and many others. Much appreciation to Bennett's Contracting, especially Leon, Todd and Cindy.
This lighthouse stands about 21 feet tall and is topped by a copper housed beacon highly visible from Lake Shore Drive and from much of the lake. An imposing monument to our citizens, our new lighthouse represents strength and determination. It has a stainless steel interior and a sturdy five foot base surrounded by concrete.
Painter and Poet is donating 20% of the proceeds from sales of "Culver Lighthouse, 2006" to the Culver Town Park.
